A Little Bit of (Pastel) Color in My World

In my house I am outnumbered. There are two guys and one me! So, we have an office full of firefighter stuff, a guest bathroom so decorated in outdoorsy stuff that we refer to it as the "moose bathroom", a blue nursery and a deep maroon and purple master bedroom with a dark blue bathroom. Our house screams "males rule here!"
I have to admit that I prayed for a son my whole married life leading up to the day of Aaron's ultrasound. So, most of the time I am perfectly content in my male dominated house. But, there are times when I just want to visit somewhere "girlie".
That is why I love visiting my friend, Robin. She is the mother of the 5 girls that I previously spoke about. Her house is a "girl power paradise"! Each of the girls' rooms are painted in beautiful pastel colors. They have beautiful bedspreads and sweet, feminine furniture. The place just reeks of "girl".
So, I sometimes take Aaron over there and he helps even the odds for their dad. And, I get to soak in a bit of "girl world". Then, we come on home and it is back to fire trucks, balls and little toy cars...and I wouldn't have it any other way!
