Paul and the Underground Church

Aaron and I just finished a great week of Vacation Bible School! This year the theme was "Paul and the Underground Church". We decorated the church to look like ancient Rome, complete with a prison for Paul, a cave for the Christians to hide in, and a marketplace where the kids could "buy" their snack each evening! Aaron loved it! He learned all his Bible verses and was able to tell me all about Paul and his guard "Brutus". He especially enjoyed going to the market place each night and picking out his own snack! It was a fun week!

Rome

Here I am with my favorite little "Roman"!Here's Aaron at the fruit stall in the market!

Not Jimmy!

I really enjoy most of Kenny Chesney's music. In his song, "We Went Out Last Night" there is a part where he sings "...Jimmy in a fistfight out by the car. Everybody was some kind of star when we went out last night!"

Well, Aaron and I were coming home and the song was on the radio. Aaron asked "What was everybody trying to start?" I replied, "He said 'everybody was some kind of star'" Aaron paused for a second and said "Not Jimmy! He was in a fistfight out by the car!"

She's Not an Elephant!

Coming out of lunch today, a lady stopped us to ask for directions. As she drove away, Aaron gasped and said "She's not going to remember where to go! She's not an elephant!"

That's Right, Mommy!

This morning I was singing one of our songs from Vacation Bible School. As I walked by the room that Aaron was playing in I was singing the chorus which goes "Forever God is faithful. Forever God is strong. Forever God is with us, forever!" Then, I heard a sweet little voice say "That's right, Mommy!"

Happy Birthday, Daddy!

Yesterday, we went to see "Ice Age: Dawn of the Dinosaurs" to celebrate Daddy's birthday!

More Fun in the Box

Aaron asked if he could eat his dinner in his box, so I said "Sure!"

Rest in Peace

Aaron was playing in his box and he said "I'm going to rest now, but not in peace!" I just had to laugh!

Boxes

One of the things Aaron likes best about me being a Southern Living at Home consultant is when I host my own party and the boxes start arriving!!!

A Mom's Job

Being a Mom is my full-time job. It is a wonderful job and it pays well in kisses, hugs, snuggles and bedtime stories!!! Unfortunately, it does not pay anything in $$$. I was fortunate enough to find a part-time job that I love doing! In the Fall of 2007, I became a Southern Living at Home consultant. In doing so, I am able to set my own schedule, go to parties, and make a little spending $$$! As an added benefit, I get to have some much needed adult interaction! I am so grateful that I am able to stay home with Aaron, but as anyone who has ever had a child will tell you, spending some time out with grown-ups is important, too!

Searching for Seashells

Aaron kept saying he wanted to search for seashells, so he and Paw Paw Mark did!

Myrtle Beach

While my father was visiting, we took a quick trip down to Myrtle Beach to visit James' parents. Here are Aaron and his Paw Paw Mark just kicked back and hanging out at the campground.

A Visit with Paw Paw Mark

My dad came down for a visit this week. Here are some pictures of all the fun he and Aaron had together! These pictures are from "South of the Border" which has to be one of the tackiest places on earth! But, it was a fun little pit stop!
