What I love most about where we live is that while in some ways it is very "small town", there are so many people from so many different walks of life.I love that Aaron is able to learn about many different cultures and traditions. We have a neighbor who grew up in New Orleans. Today is "Fat Tuesday" and she invited us to celebrate Mardi Gras with her family and friends. The kids were in a "parade" around the neighborhood. They rode in the back of a truck and threw out beads and "coins".Then, we all shared the "King Cake" which was decorated with purple, green and gold sprinkles.Inside the cake was a little plastic baby (representing baby Jesus). The tradition is that whoever finds the baby has to bring the next "King Cake". This was my first Mardi Gras celebration, also. What a great time we had!
