Each night, Aaron and I (and Daddy when he is home!) pray together. Most nights the prayers are a simple and quick "Thank you, Jesus, for this good day. Thank you for Mommy and Daddy! I love you, Jesus. Amen!"
But, the other night Aaron said a prayer that just tickled me. It went like this, "Dear Jesus, thank you for warm cozy pajamas and thank you for my warm cozy house and thank you for my warm cozy bed and thank you for my warm cozy blankets! I love you, Jesus! Amen!" I just thought it was SO precious!

A Conversation...
The other night Aaron and I were rocking before he went to bed. Here is the conversation that took place...
Aaron: Mommy? When am I going to have a baby sister?
Me: You are not going to have one. Our family is you, me and Daddy.
Aaron: Can I please have a baby sister?
Me: Well...You are going to have to ask your father about that one!
Aaron: Aaahhh! He always says "NO!"

"She Looks Like Jesus!"
We were at church Sunday morning when our Childrens Minister walked by in her "clerical" robe. Aaron looked at her, looked at me and stated "She looks like Jesus!" I had to laugh!

Rattlefrog???
The other day I was putting my bike under the house and I discovered a very large frog. I called Aaron over to look at it. He wanted to poke it with a stick!
Since then, Aaron keeps wanting to go see the "rattlefrog". I asked him what makes it a "rattlefrog" and he said "It hangs out with all the rattlesnakes!" Makes sense to me! Although, I hope there are not rattlesnakes under my house!

The PBS Man!
The other day we received a package that was delivered by "UPS". They always ring our doorbell. As I went to answer the door, Aaron came running into the room shouting "It's the PBS man!"
The Post Office Revisited
I went to the post office alone yesterday. As I approached the counter, I told the guy working there "I came alone this time". He said "I noticed it was a lot quieter!"

Just Another Saturday!
I sat there on the floor of the post office for 25 minutes waiting for the fit to subside. I was just going to run in and mail a package. I told Aaron that he could play in the lobby, as long as he could see me. As soon as I turned to sign the credit card slip, I heard “pat, pat, pat, pat, pat…” It was the sound of size 8 toddler boots running as fast as they could go in the opposite direction from me. When I caught up with him, I asked him “What happens when you run away from Mommy?” He replied “I have to go to time out” “That’s right!” I said and carried him back up to the front where I sat him on the floor. Instead of doing his “time out” like a man, he proceeded to kick the wall (is it some kind of federal offense to kick the post office wall?). He also screamed and cried and tried to crawl away. He stood up and tried to run away. I, (very patiently, I might add!) kept setting him back down on the spot.
The entire time this was going on, people are coming and going in the post office. We live in a small town, so it was inevitable that someone we knew would come in. There were the occasional comments, but my favorite was the young man who said “You’re doing a good job, Mama. Hang in there!”
Finally, the fit subsided, Aaron did his “time out” and we went home. Just another Saturday morning in the Garris family!
