Last week our family and some friends took a vacation to Duck, which is on the Outer Banks of North Carolina. Neither James nor I had ever been to the Outer Banks, so we were very excited! We arrived Sunday evening and headed straight out to the beach. Aaron was enjoying splashing in the tide pools (or "mud puddles" as he called them) until a wave came along and knocked him down! After that, we had to hear "I 'cared' of the mud puddle!" all week long! Aaron's "Aunt" Rachel finally got him to splash in the water later in the week.
On Monday morning we went out looking for food and exploring the area. We bought groceries for the week and then headed back to the house. Aaron took a long nap, then we hit the beach in the late afternoon. There was hardly anyone on the beach, so Aaron had a great time running up and down the beach. One time, he saw a wave coming and took off running, screaming "aaahhh!!!", with his hands in the air! I almost could not chase him, because I was laughing so hard!
It was a great week! We spent most mornings doing "tourist" stuff. The afternoon were lazy times of reading and naps. Late afternoons and evenings were spent out on the beach. We chased crabs, collected seashells, dug in the sand, and even splashed a little in the ocean! Thanks to Aunt Rachel for sharing her house with us!

What a great time you must have had. Sounds like my kind of vacation. Wish I could have been there!
