More Snow!

Snow Day!

We got a lot more snow this winter than we usually do. Here is Aaron out enjoying it! (As I watched from the warmth of my kitchen!)

Big Brother!!!

January was a big month for Aaron. Not only did he turn 5, but a few days after that, he found out he was going to be a big brother!

We took him to Baskin Robbins to get some ice cream. As we sat there eating, James asked Aaron if he still wanted a baby brother or sister. Aaron's first answer was "no". James said, "Well, you had better change your mind because you are going to be a big brother!" Aaron leaped off the stool and shouted "I'm going to be a big brother!"

I can't remember ever seeing a child more excited to be a big brother. He immediately started kissing on and talking to my tummy! He also started thinking up names. His favorite was "Aaronfufu". (His favorite, definitely not mine!)

Tree Climbing...

Happy Birthday, Aaron!

Bug's First Bubble Gum!

Bug's first piece of gum lasted about 10 seconds before he asked to spit it out!
Bug's Daddy had always told him that he could not have bubble gum until he was 5 years old. On his birthday, I went into his room and said "Happy Birthday!" He replied, "thanks!" Then, immediately said "Can I have a piece of gum?"

The Big "5"!

On January 14, 2010, Aaron turned 5 years old! He had a dinosaur birthday party!

Christmas Morning

The one thing Aaron asked Santa for was a "Slinky Dog" from Toy Story!

Reindeer Chow and Milk & Cookies!

Wolfie!

Aaron's Auntie Jen and Paw Paw Mark both gave him GWL gift cards for Christmas. One of the things he bought was "Wolfie". He bought the wolf at the "stuffing station". He stuffed him and then put a "wish" inside.

Story Time!

Great Wolf Lodge has a lot more to do than just play in the waterpark! Each night they have a bedtime story and all the kids (and some adults!) wear their pajamas to the story time!

There are so many different choices within the waterpark itself. We were surpised that Aaron kept returning to the wave pool! He wanted to spend all his time there!

When you first enter the waterpark, the children are all measured. They are then given a wristband to indicate which slides they are tall enough to ride. Aaron was tall enough to ride all but one, as long as he was with James or me.

Great Wolf Lodge!

Our Christmas present to Aaron was a trip to the "Great Wolf Lodge". It is a resort with an indoor water park inside it. For weeks leading up to our visit, Aaron and I would sing "Going to the Lodge. Going to the Lodge." (the song they had on their commercials). By the time we arrived, the Bug was about to burst with excitement!

Christmas Cookies at Preschool

Aaron's preschool class made Christmas cookies one day. Try to imagine 13 preschoolers set loose with cookie dough and sprinkles! It was a lot of fun, and actually not as crazy as I expected it would be!
What was in those cookies?

Gingerbread House

Aaron and the finished product!
Proud "homeowner"!
One of our favorite Christmas traditions is making gingerbread houses at the church. As you can see, it it quite a unique (and messy) experience!

Santa!

Aaron went to visit Santa with his cousin, Lindsey. Her mom was nervous that Lindsey would cry, but as you can see, she did really well!

Church Christmas Program

Aaron does not like singing in front of people. So, it took some major bribing to get him up on the stage for the Christmas musical at church! Once up there, he sang all the verses of "I Saw Three Ships" in a loud, clear voice. I was a very proud Mommy!
Look at how nervous he is!
Don't be fooled by that little angel face!

Oh Christmas Tree! (Yes, I know it's January)

Pneumonia!

Aaron has always been a fairly healthy child. In fact, he never even had to go to the doctor's for a sick visit until after he turned 3! So, this year has been quite a shock to us! In October, he had bronchitis. Then, on the Friday night after Thanksgiving, he woke me up every 1 to 2 hours crying that he did not feel well. I laid down with him at about 6:00 that morning and noticed that his breathing was very rapid! As soon as James got home from work, we took him to the doctor. The doctor gave him 2 breathing treatments there in the office, diagnosed him with pneumonia and sent us home with a nebulizer (or "dragon treatment" as we called it!) Poor little guy!

1st College Basketball Game

On "Black Friday" I took Aaron (along with his 5 friends, "The Hardison Girls) to his first college basketball game. Luckily, it was "canned food night" and the price of admission was 2 cans of food for the food bank. I say "luckily" because he got bored pretty quick! Here he is with Autumn who he swears he is going to marry some day!
