Books, Books, and More Books!

Anyone who knows Aaron knows that the child loves to read. So, it came as no surprise that he received many books this Christmas!

Aaron only asked Santa for one thing this year...a toy weedeater! While Santa thought it was an unusual request, he delivered it with love on Christmas Eve! Aaron has had the best time with that weedeater! We have enjoyed watching him "weed eat" everyone's yards!

Getting Ready for Santa!

Aaron enjoyed choosing the "just right" cookies for Santa. He also left a little carrot for Rudolph.

Getting Ready for Rudolph

Aaron was very excited to "sprinkle reindeer chow" out in the lawn for Rudolph and his friends!

On of our family traditions is to visit the "Meadow Lights". It is a fun place with a train ride through the lights and an old country store with lots of candy!

Something Amazing, I Guess...

There is a scene in "The Incredibles" where Mr. Incredible gets out of his car and a neighbor boy is sitting on his tricycle staring at him. Mr. Incredible asks him "What are you waiting for?" The little boy replies, "I don't know! Something amazing, I guess..."

The first time I saw this scene, I thought, "Yeah kid, aren't we all?" Then, as this is Aaron's current favorite movie and I have watched it over and over again in the last few weeks, I realized something. This could easily tie into Christmas. The world was waiting for something amazing, and it came in the form of a little baby wrapped in swaddling clothes and lying in a manger. This is why we celebrate Christmas! No longer are we that little kid, waiting on our tricycle for something amazing to happen. We just need to remember to share it with the world!

Merry Christmas!

Making Gingerbread Houses

Santa Sighting!

We were driving home recently and as we passed a local gas station, Aaron started shouting "It's Santa, Mommy! Turn around! Turn around!" So, I did. And sure enough, as I pulled up beside the gas station, there was Santa, full beard, red suit and all, pumping gas! Aaron was thrilled!

P.S. Santa drives a yellow car!

Shark Attack!

Lazy River

Oh the drama! The whole time we were at Key Lime Cove, Aaron wanted to stay at the kiddie slides. Dad and I wanted to go to some of the other places, but as you can see, Aaron was not happy about it!

5 O'Clock Somewhere!

Seriously, folks, it's just lemonade!

Key Lime Cove

About 30 minutes from my father's house is a resort called "Key Lime Cove". It has an indoor water park, shops, restaurants, an activity area and even an arcade. We spent 2 nights there and did not leave the resort until it was time to check out! Aaron loved playing on all the kiddie slides.

Aaron's 1st Snow

Poor Aaron! Up until our trip to Wisconsin, he had never seen a real snowfall! Sure, he had seen flurries, but not a good "get out and play in it" snow. So, when the snow fell, we made sure to get out in it! He had a blast running around and playing with the dogs! Jafar, the big black and brown dog, would snatch Aaron's mittens right off his hands and then take off running! It turned into a big game. We really enjoyed the snowfall!

Jelly Belly Land!

While we were visiting my dad in Wisconsin, we went to the Jelly Belly warehouse. They have a train tour of the warehouse, but we were only allowed to take pictures at the beginning. There were all kinds of "pictures" made out of Jelly Bellys. After the tour, we were given a sample bag of Jelly Bellys and then directed to a store with many kinds of candy and a place to sample different flavors. We had a blast! Then, we went to Red Robin for dinner and Aaron was talking about a mile a minute from all the sugar! :)

Little Pilot

After our recent flight to Wisconsin, the pilot invited Aaron up to the cockpit. He talked with him and even let him "fly" the plane. Aaron was prepared since he had on his bomber jacket!

Currituck Lighthouse

Aaron climbed the Currituck Lighthouse when he was 2, so it was no problem for him to climb it again at 3! He did a great job and climbed every step himself!

We All Scream for Ice Cream!

Here we are at the Outer Banks enjoying some ice cream!
