It's the Little Things In Life

Today for lunch we had peanut butter and jelly sandwiches. I pulled a stool up to the counter and let Aaron "make" his own sandwich. He was so proud of himself! I was proud of him, too. Then, we sat at the table and he told me all about Wilbur (the pig from "Charlotte's Web"). I got to thinking "It's the little things that make life great".

A Trip to the Dentist???

Aaron and I went to the church this morning to help get things ready for a yard sale we are having. Imagine my surprise when I told him to tell his Aunt Borree where we went this morning and he said "the dentist's office".

Seriously! Where does he come up with this stuff???

A Special Package

This morning, Aaron was watching as I was opening a package I had received. I asked what he thought was in the package. He promptly replied "Porridge!" Sometimes that kid is just too much!

Talking to Daddy!

Just checking in with Daddy at the end of the day!

More Adventures in Potty Training!

One evening, Aaron stated "I have to go potty", ran into his bathroom and slammed the door. As I tried to open the door to go help him, he shouted "Go away! Mommy!" So, I waited outside the door. A few minutes later I heard a crashing noise. When I opened the door to investigate, there was urine everywhere! I'm not kidding! It looked like he had peed while turning in a circle! So, I asked him "What did you do? Spin around while you were peeing?" He looked me straight in the eye and said "Yes! Yes, I did!"

The Monster Under the Bed!

Why do children believe in the monster under the bed?

The other day as I went to get Aaron out of bed, I asked him (as I do every morning) "Did you sleep well?" He said "NO!" I asked "well, why not?" He replied, "I was scared of the monster under my bed!"

Now, Aaron has never seen "Monsters Inc." He does not have a book where there is a monster under the bed. We certainly have never told him there was a monster under his bed! So, where would he come up with this? It is a complete mystery to me!

Noah's Ark...

One of Aaron's favorite Bible stories is "Noah's Ark". He has several copies of the story and loves to look at the pictures of all the animals. He made me laugh the other day when we were reading one of his books. When we got to the part where Noah sent out dove and it returned with an olive branch, Aaron said "The dove went out and came back with an awful branch!"

1st Day of Preschool

Aaron recently had his first day of preschool. While it seemed like no big deal to him, I was so excited that I had a hard time sleeping the night before! When we arrived at the school, he marched right in to his class. Then, he stopped in the doorway and would not budge! Finally, I leaned down and told him "Hey! There's a toolbench over there." He went to it, started playing and never looked back!

As I left the classroom I felt tears well up in my eyes. I was shocked! But, I guess my baby is growing up faster than I want him to!

When I went to pick Aaron up, I asked him how his day was. He replied "I played outside and there was a big bug! And my teacher smushed it!" That was all he would talk about from his first day of school, that big bug!
