Halloween in May?

The other day Aaron got into the closet and got his "trick or treat" bag out. He said to me "I go Halloween!" I was typing on the computer and didn't even turn around as I said "ok" to him. The next thing I know I heard the front door slam! I ran outside and he was halfway down the front porch steps, wearing only a diaper and carrying his bag. "I go Halloween!" He said again. I tried to explain that you can't just "go Halloween" anytime you want. But, I don't think he understood! :)

"Frow" Me in My Bed!

Recently, Aaron and I were hanging out with my mom, brother and sister-in-law. We had gone to the pharmacy, and when we came out it was pouring down rain. I asked my brother if he would please just "run out and throw Aaron into his carseat" and I would buckle him in when I got there. Well, when I jumped into the SUV, Aaron had this huge grin on his face and he said "Uncle Kevin 'frow' me in my carseat!"

Now, the kid wants to be "frown" everywhere! "Frow me in my bed, Mommy!" and "Frow me on the couch!" or "frow me in the bathtub, Mommy!" is all I hear these days! It makes me smile everytime he says to "frow" him somewhere!

Could This Possibly Be Comfortable???

Me With Both of My Mother's Day "Presents"

Happy Mother's Day!

There was a time in the past that I absolutely dreaded Mother's Day. When all you want in the world is to have a baby, and you are not sure that you can, seeing all those moms with their kids is like a slap in the face! I will admit, I spent several Mother's Days in tears. Fortunately for me, God is in control and had a plan that I did not know about!

This year, I was able to "do" Mother's Day with my mom, brother and sister the Sunday before. We went to lunch and had a great time. It was nice to just be together without the distraction of the grandkids, spouses, etc.

Then, on the actual "Mother's Day", I spent the day with James and Aaron. We went to eat at "Outback Steak House" (yummy!) and then spent the afternoon hanging out at our house. Aaron gave me a gorgeous "photo collage jewelry box" and a cool Snoopy card! Best of all, he was an absolute angel the whole day! Who could ask for a better Mother's Day!

A Visit With the Cousins!

Recently, my sister and her family came for a visit on their way to Sicily. Aaron had not seen his cousins in over a year. He loved having someone other than me to hang out with! Below are some of the things we did during their visit. We both really miss them!

"I Need a Toddler Toy, Sir!"

As I have stated before, I am a "fast food junkie". Whenever I order a kid's meal for Aaron, I always try to ask for a "toddler toy" for him. Well, the other day, Aaron and I went through the drive-thru at a "Taco Bell" As I completed my order, the guy inside asked me if I needed anything else. I started to say "no", but Aaron leaned over toward the speaker and yelled "I need a toddler toy, sir!" I laughed all the way to the window!

Can You Live With Your Heart Outside Your Body?

I'm sure it is obvious from my blog that being a mom to Aaron is what I live for. Since the day he was born I have always said "I didn't know it was possible to live with my heart outside of my body!" Now, I know it is possible, because my heart is in his crib sleeping!

Today I came across the quote "Making the decision to have a child - it's momentous. It is to decide forever to have your heart go walking around outside your body." (Elizabeth Stone)
I felt like it was written just for me. It expressed what I have been saying all along.

A Trip to the Zoo!

We took Aaron to the zoo yesterday. His Aunt Leslie and his "Maw Maw" met us there. We had a good time seeing a lot of animals sleeping! It was 90 degrees outside and they just seemed lackadaisical. We walked over 5 miles and then rode the tram back to the entrance. I think Aaron might have enjoyed the tram ride best of all!

Good Morning!

Sunday morning Aaron and I went to church. He wanted to sit in a chair that was at the very back of the sanctuary. Just as Robin, the children's minister, stood up to greet the congregation, he jumped off the chair and took off running down the aisle toward the front of the church. Robin said "Good morning and welcome to Memorial Baptist Church. And, a special welcome to Aaron Garris. Now, could someone stick their arm out into the aisle and catch him as he runs by?" But, by this point time he had reached the front of the sanctuary and was giggling madly. I swooped him up, turned him around and said "say 'good morning'!" He said "good morning!" and continued giggling. Then, I, his mortified mother carried him back up the aisle to the back of the church!
