Return of the Bug!
Yippee! Aaron came home today! He is currently sleeping off the 2 week party he attended at his "Maw Maw" and "Paw Paw's" house. We are so glad to have him home. Our family is complete again.

"Mommy Broken"
My sweet baby is still down at his grandparents. I called him to tell him "goodnight". He got on the phone and said "Mommy broken!" I started laughing, but then told him that my arm was broken, but it was getting better.

Clean, Quiet, and...LONELY!!!
Last Thursday night I broke my arm. So, Aaron has been down at his grandparents all week. This has given me a chance to rest and recuperate. At first, I'll admit, it was nice. I could sleep late, read something other than "Curious George", eat when I wanted to, and even take naps in the afternoon!
But, it did not take long to feel like something was missing. I miss hearing the little guy singing to himself in his crib. I miss sitting down at the dinner (and breakfast and lunch) table with him. I miss blowing bubbles and riding the bike with him in the trailer. I miss the reading and singing (and cuddling!) in the rocking chair before bed. I just flat out miss him!
Sure, my house is the neatest it has been in 2 years, but it is just clean, quiet and LONELY!!!

Tumbling Class
Who Is It?
That boy of mine cracks me up! Yesterday, the mailman came to our door with a package. He rang the bell and then knocked on the door to let us know we had a package. Aaron was supposed to be sleeping in his room, but I heard him call out "who is it?" I had to laugh! But, then I told him "GO TO SLEEP!"

First You Take a Torpedo...
Do you remember my "crazy friends" from my earlier posts? The ones who adopted the 5 sisters? Well, I tutor for them two afternoons a week now. I really enjoy doing it and it allows me to spend some quality time with the girls.
The other day I was at their house and the girls were chowing down on some fruit salsa. Their mom had mentioned that Winter (who is in 1st grade) had made the "chips". So, I asked Winter how she made them. She replied, "First you take a torpedo, put water on it and then put sugar on it and bake it in here" (pointing to the stove).
As I struggled to hide my smile I thought, "That's the best tasting torpedo I have ever had!"
That's why I love spending time over there. You never know what is going to come out of their mouths!

Go Faster!
Last year for Mother's Day James bought me a bike and a trailer that I can pull Aaron in. Well, the trailer seats two, so yesterday we invited Aaron's friend Catherine to go for a ride with us. Catherine lives on the next street over from us, and her street has a really long hill. I usually don't ride down the hill when I have an extra passenger in the trailer, but yesterday for some crazy reason, I let the kids talk me into it! So, there I was, huffing and puffing and using every once of strength I had to pull their 60 pounds of combined weight back up the hill, and Catherine starts yelling "Go faster, Mawca! Go faster!" Soon, Aaron takes up the chant! "Go faster, Mommy! Go faster!" I yelled back at them, "Faster?! I am lucky to be going FORWARD!" They continued to encourage me to go faster all the way up the hill. While they were disappointed in my speed, I was just happy I didn't have a heart attack!
Aaron's Fire Call
The other day James left our house to go on a call with the fire department. A few minute later, Aaron rode his fire truck into the kitchen where I was making dinner. He was wearing his fire helmet and he looked at me and said "I go on call! I need your keys." So, I gave him a set of old keys to use. After all, I would not want him to miss a fire call! :)
"Tom Sawyer" at Church
Aaron has been struggling with being a good listener in group settings. So, when his Sunday School teacher pulled me out of my own class, I thought "Oh great! Here we go again!" It turns out that she had come to get me because he had a little accident that leaked from his diaper and soaked through the onesie he had on! We had not brought an extra set of clothes (since I can't remember the last time he has leaked!) So, I took the onesie off and just put him back in his overalls without a shirt. He looked like a little "Tom Sawyer". I called him my "little country boy".
